Welcome to the
EH Holden Car Club of Tasmania’s
web information page.
Club members
The club is a social club of people interested in early Holdens. The club was formed in 1981. Membership is made up of various age groups and people are located across all of Tasmania. Everyone is always welcome, irrespective of their car ownership.
Member’s cars
Our members own a mix of vehicle body types. Several members don’t own an EH at all, including one female member whose husband owns a new Ford! Another couple own several early Holdens but not an EH. Some members cars are off the road and under restoration.
Members have a range of ideas regarding their EH. Some EH’s are highly modified & some are strictly stock standard. Not everyone’s vehicle is in immaculate show room condition either, as this isn’t important to everyone. Some members are very serious about the condition of their prized EH. Others just enjoy their EH for what it is. Some members use their EH as a daily driver while others only bring it out on club outings. The club is open to all variations of interest.
Club meetings
The club conducts its regular business at monthly meetings at the Shannons Insurance offices in Argyle St North Hobart. The club meetings are held at 7:30pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Visitors are always welcome. Attendance to club meetings is encouraged but is not compulsory.
Apart from dealing with the usual official club business, this evening get together is also about catching up with who’s doing what. This includes helping one another with technical solutions or discussing future social events or general social chat. However, the club is more about people getting together with their cars at least once a month, and socialising somewhere around the state.
Club outings
Monthly outings are generally a Sunday drive. Although outings at other times include informal car club displays at charity car shows. These are often to raise money or toy donations for charity around Xmas time.
Our membership rate is currently $35 for single membership and $45 for joint membership. Note that joint membership is limited to two people living at the same address. Joint members can be either adults or children.
This membership rate will also apply for the next financial (2008-09) year. Membership renewals are due on the 1st of May each year. Members however can receive a $5 discount for early payment when it is time to renew their membership. New members joining part way through a year, pay a reduced pro forma amount when they renew their membership in the following year.
Please note that the above amounts are correct at the time of writing. However our fees are reviewed every year at or Annual General Meeting (AGM) and are updated from time to time.

Newsletters
A club newsletter is produced quarterly. This keeps everyone up to date on what is happening. We exchange newsletters with various EH clubs around the country.
All State Runs
Every second year, many members flock to the All State Run which is hosted on a semi rotational basis between the EH clubs around the country.
The event culminates with a show ‘n’ shine event which is generally open to spectators from the general public. The event is held over the Easter weekend.
It was last held in Tasmania in April 2001 around the time of our clubs 20th anniversary.
