Why are these classics so popular?

The EH Holden is a car which touches a soft spot in the hearts of most Australians. There are many reasons for this and some of them include; Their grandfather owned one, and always kept it shiny in the garage. Maybe it had been their first car, or their first kiss was on that vinyl bench seat. For some their parents took them everywhere, and on holidays in it creating many fond memories. They had one as a work vehicle that did about a million miles, or they just liked the look of them and enjoyed their popularity.

So overall the EJ/ EH was never the fastest car of its time, nor was it the best handling. But it did offer universal appeal as it was cheap, practical, relatively quick, economical, easy to work on and ideal for modification. Forty years down the track, and its familiar good looks and high status have ensured its enduring popularity.
